How To Build Big Muscles
You hit the gym to lift weights regularly and take lots protein in the hope
to get bigger muscles, but after months of hard bodybuilding workouts with the weights, but your muscles hardly grew. Why is this so?
Well, there are numerous reasons and here below are just some of them.
• Compound Exercises Workout – If you go to any gym, you will see people doing sets after sets of dumbbell curls and triceps extensions to get bigger arms. Well, if you follow them, then your overall musculature will not develop.
Go for the big exercises which workout many body parts simultaneously. Hit the bench press, the squats, weighted pushups, the deadlifts, the dips and chin ups. By just doing these exercises, you will experience overall muscular growth.
• Progressive Overloads – Are you lifting the same weight and reps week after week? If so, how do you expect your muscles to grow? If you do the same thing again and again, the end results will be the same isn’t it? So lift heavier weights or higher reps progressively.
• Enough Sleep – Are you sleeping 8 hours or more a night? You don’t? Then your muscles won’t get bigger to expectation. This is because your body repairs itself when you sleep and that is the time when your muscles grow. So when your body is deprived of the rest, how then can your muscles grow bigger?
• Consume Alcohol – A little drink now and then is fine. However, do know that alcohol is a poison and your body will shut itself down to remove the alcohol from your system as soon as possible.
So when you go to bed after a drunken binge, your body will be trying to get rid of the alcohol instead of repairing and building your muscles. Besides, alcohol suppresses a hormone called testosterone which is essential for bodybuilding.
• Low Testosterone – As said earlier, this hormone is essential for building muscles. So you may want to consume some supplements to encourage your body to produce more testosterone naturally.
• Eating At The Right Time – Take a meal about 2 hours before you start weight training and another meal immediately after your workout. This is because food takes about 2 hours to be digested and get into your bloodstream. By doing this, you are feeding your muscles when you are working out and then continue the feeding after the workout.
The above are just some of the many things you need to know and do when you want to build bigger muscles.

i think sleep is so important for building muscle and is usually forgotten about. You dont gain muscle whilst you are training. the body repairs itself when you are resting.
